RON ARRA SIGNATURE SERIES SURF RODS & BLANKS
Built with a champion. Designed to outcast everything.
The Ron Arra Signature Series isn’t just another surf rod—it’s a purpose-built weapon developed with five-time U.S. Distance Surfcasting Champion Ron Arra, engineered to push your casting range further than you thought possible.
At 9’6″ to 12′, this rod is made to launch. The advanced blank blends high modulus carbon, S-2 glass, and graphene to create a powerful, responsive platform that loads deep and recovers fast, sending your plug exactly where it needs to go.
You’ll feel everything. The sensitivity is dialed in to detect subtle takes in heavy sweep, while the reinforced structure gives you the backbone to turn and control powerful fish in rough surf.
X-Joint Technology strengthens the connection point with a cross-wrapped carbon structure, eliminating weak spots and delivering smoother power transfer, so the rod loads and recovers like a one-piece.
Outfitted with titanium guides for ultra-smooth line flow and reduced friction, plus a Fuji DPS-IC20 reel seat with double locking nuts, this rod is built to stay locked in under extreme pressure. The PACO-style EVA grip keeps you in control, wet, cold, or grinding long sessions.
Maximum distance. Total control. Zero compromise.

I got a chance to fish the 9′ fast action prototype and am pretty happy with it. I was throwing lighter stuff in moderate wind, like small Super Strike needles, SP Minnows, and 1/2 to 3/4 oz NLBNs, along with some heavier stuff, and it handled all of it really well.
It loaded up nicely, even with the lighter lures ,and still had enough backbone to drive casts into the wind without feeling underpowered. I was also fishing around structure and had no problem turning fish and getting them in. The rod’s got plenty of backbone when you need it. Definitely feels like a versatile setup for that mid weight range.

I was using the prototype 10 6 Lightning fast rod caught over 14 fish with that rod. The rod is great how it is. It casts plugs and lures GREAT !!.., handles big fish. Great, it’s the perfect Lightning Fast Rod!!

Field tester Johnnie Siler commented:
“I have been fishing with the prototype JS Company USA lightning fast surfster 9’ 1/2-3oz lure rating 10-20lb line rating paired with a Van Staal VR-125. The rod is exceptionally great for fishing for red drum and snook at jetties because of the sensitivity to your jig and the ability to cast a 2-oz No Live Bait Needed a mile! I have caught at least 20+ big red drum on the prototype and just about the same amount of 5lb bonitos. With spring and summer coming right around the corner, I am hoping to catch king mackerel on the rod as well. When pier fishing with it, I’ve gravitated to using free-lined live bait, small casting jigs (1oz), and small Yozuri plugs just because of how well it throws them, and I’m able to outcast most anglers using the same lures and length rod! With all of these advantages, I conclude that this rod is ideal for versatile use from the pier, jetties, and even the beach! These rods have yet to be released, but hopefully, very soon, they will be available for everyone to enjoy!!!!”

Product Development Update: Neptune Giant Series
Updated: March 23, 2026
During final winter testing aboard the Good Times charter boat, we had the opportunity to fully push the limits of our 7′ Neptune Giant rods under true big-game conditions.
On the final day, we experienced a double hookup on giant bluefin. One fish, estimated at over 300 lbs, was successfully released after a 10–15 minute fight. The second fish, hooked on the 7′ Neptune Giant rod, proved to be something far more substantial.
From the initial run, it was clear the fish carried serious weight. As the fight progressed, the mate caught a glimpse and estimated the fish to be at least 100 inches. After an extended battle, the giant finally surfaced.
Back at the dock, I confirmed with Captain Andy that the fish had been measured at 120 inches, a true giant. The measurement was taken using a calibrated stick system during the fight, which I had missed while focused on capturing video and photography.
This performance validated what we saw on the water:
- The fight lasted 1 hour and 5 minutes
- Drag pressure exceeded 50+ lbs
- The rod maintained deep, controlled bend throughout the entire fight
Designed for anglers who demand both refinement and adaptability, this series offers a full range of powers—from Ultra-Light to Extra-Heavy. As a result, anglers can achieve precise presentation and confident control across a wide variety of species and conditions.
The blank construction features a carefully balanced blend of high modulus carbon and premium S-2 glass. This combination not only enhances responsiveness but also improves durability. Additionally, reduced resin content increases sensitivity while maintaining structural integrity, resulting in a lightweight yet exceptionally strong rod.
JS Company’s proprietary Helical Core Construction further refines performance by minimizing torsional distortion. This, in turn, improves casting accuracy and overall stability under load.
The rod is outfitted with Fuji DPS-18 reel seats and Fuji guides with Alconite rings, which ensures smooth, efficient line flow. Moreover, these components provide long-term resistance to the demands of saltwater use.
Finally, the ergonomically contoured, high-density EVA grip offers comfort and control throughout extended fishing sessions.
Overall, this is a thoughtfully engineered rod that delivers a balance of strength, sensitivity, and versatility.
